Privacy

You can read Term Break without creating an account or accepting cookies. The site does not track your visits. This policy explains the request details received by the hosting provider, what happens when you use the contact page, and how to raise a privacy concern with the operator.

Who operates the site

The operator is Orel Zigi, Ariel Sharon 4, Netivot, Israel, a private individual who lives there.

The site collects no personal information beyond emails that visitors choose to send. The operator handles those emails in line with the Australian Privacy Principles, even where the Commonwealth Privacy Act may not bind a private individual. This policy describes how those emails are handled.

What happens when you browse

The pages are built in advance and delivered as static files. There are no user accounts, comments or newsletter subscriptions.

The countdown uses your device clock and runs in your browser. It sends nothing anywhere. The font files are served alongside the pages themselves, so your browser never contacts a separate font host to render the text.

Hosting and server logs

As the operator's processor, Cloudflare, Inc. hosts and delivers the site, using technical request data such as basic browser details, requested addresses and IP addresses to serve pages and defend the site against attacks and abuse. Cloudflare may retain short security logs. Those servers may be outside Australia.

The operator does not export or routinely review those logs, and they are kept by the host under its own retention policy. These hosting records are separate from the countdown, which works within your browser.

Contact messages

The contact form opens your own mail program with the fields included in the message body. You can review the message before sending it. Nothing entered in the form is stored on the site, and there is no form service.

Emails sent to the contact address are received through Google's Gmail service and kept only as long as needed to answer them. Google may store them on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. These emails can be deleted on request, and the operator does not pass them on to anyone else.

If you send the email, the operator receives your email address and whatever you include in the message. Include only the personal information needed to explain your enquiry.

If a form service is added later, this policy will be updated before it is introduced and will name the service.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

The site uses no cookies or analytics and currently shows no advertising. It does not use local storage for tracking and does not track visitors in any other way.

Access, correction and privacy complaints

The operator follows the Australian Privacy Principles as good practice and accepts requests to access or correct personal information they hold about you. Use the contact page to explain your request.

If you have a privacy complaint, raise it with the operator first through the contact page. If it remains unresolved, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, known as the OAIC, about making a complaint. The OAIC is the relevant Australian privacy regulator and can explain whether it can consider your matter.

Updates to this policy

This page is revised whenever the site's handling of personal information changes. Any future form service will be named here before it begins receiving messages.
